About Finance Pulse

Finance Pulse is an independent data intelligence platform for Asian dividend and REIT investors. We calculate metrics that matter — real yields after inflation, REIT NAV premiums and discounts, foreign institutional flows — that commodity financial sites don't provide.

Our coverage spans 11 Asian markets with a focus on income-generating securities: dividend stocks, REITs, and the cross-border flow signals that move them.

What we do

Methodology commitment

Every number we publish has a corresponding methodology entry documenting the formula, the data sources, the refresh cadence, and — importantly — the known limitations. If a metric can be wrong in a particular way, we say so on the same page it appears.

Data sources

  • Yahoo Finance — daily prices, dividend history, ticker metadata (via the yfinance library).
  • World Bank Open Data — annual CPI for 11 Asian countries.
  • FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data) — monthly CPI where available (US, UK, EU, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, India), plus US macro context series.
  • Stock exchanges — direct scraping of daily foreign-flow releases from TWSE (Taiwan), NSE (India), JPX (Japan), HKEX (Hong Kong), Bursa Malaysia, PSE (Philippines).

We do not use any paid data vendor. Everything here is calculated from public sources.
